  1.                          PENSMITH UPDATE
  2.                           April 6, 1992

  4.  Use this disk to install the PENSMITH update for WINDOWS 3.1.
  5.  Be sure to use the following procedure:

  7.  1. Install WINDOWS 3.1. Specify "No mouse or other pointing device" for 
  8.     mouse option during Windows installation.
  9.  
  10.  2. Exit WINDOWS. To a Dos Prompt. (i.e. C:)
  11.  
  12.  3. Insert the PENSMITH update driver diskette into a drive and switch
  13.     to that drive.  (i.e. A:)
  14.  
  15.  4. Run the Update.Bat file. type:
  16.  
  17.       UPDATE C:\WINDOWS    Substitute the location of where WINDOWS 3.1
  18.                            is installed. Be sure to include the drive and
  19.                sub-directory.
  20.  
  21.     After this batch file runs, it starts the Microsoft WINDOWS SETUP program.
  22.     You must change the pointing device to be the Kurta Pensmith Driver.  To
  23.     do this, select the pointing device entry in the WINDOWS configuration list,
  24.     and specify "other".  Supply the drive name where the Pensmith update driver
  25.     disk is located. (i.e. A:\)
  26.  
  27.  5. Now that the Pensmith Driver is installed it must be configure. To do this,
  28.     start WINDOWS (e.g. type WIN) 
  29.  
  30.  6. Run KURTA Tablet Manager               Use the PROGRAM or FILE Manager
  31.                                            Type: ALT-F R K_TM (and press ENTER)
  32.  
  33.  7. Use the Tablet Manager Setup           Type: ALT-S (pulls down setup menu)
  34.     menu to configure com port             Use the TAB and Cursor Keys to
  35.     tablet type and size                   select your com port & tablet size.
  36.  
  37.                        Note:  Changing com ports selection
  38.                           will require a re_start of
  39.                           Windows.
  40.  
  41. Don't forget to order the Pensmith update to get the full benefits of the new
  42. Pensmith, including the completely new manual.  The full version will be
  43. available in June of 1992.  The cost of the upgrade is $25.
